Research into pedagogy in museums underlines the double tranposition of the theory principles of the science media and of psycho-pedagogy. At stake is understanding why and how pupils can build their scientific learning in a museum environment. This present contribution will propose a reflection on this issue based on the example of the teaching of volcanism on Réunion Island. The short history of this field is promising because of the nature of the discipline and its position in the education system in Lebanon.
